Giving Tuesday—a global day of showing up for your community—is coming up next Tuesday on December 1st. In a year where nothing has gone as planned, there’s one thing we can rely on: when we work together and help each other, our community is stronger than we realize.
We’re going to be honest with you. Nothing in 2020 has turned out as expected. But through it all we’ve found strength in the many lessons we’ve (re)learned.
We’ve learned that normal is an ever changing reality; one built by our collective wishes, dreams and goals. We’ve discovered that this new normal requires creative solutions in order to solve complex problems. And we’ve been reminded that real change starts at the ground level.
In an April email, we talked with you about how the Community Jobs Training Program is poised to make a difference for job seekers in our community. Throughout the pandemic, we have connected with employers in the community and put our thinking caps on. The result? A brand new training module proposed for 2021 that provides in-demand manufacturing job skills to displaced workers.
Our goal with this new module is to train 10 new trainees and provide them with steel toe boots and other personal protective equipment that will support their new manufacturing career dreams. We know this new module will go a long way in helping our community to recover and will make a huge impact in the lives of our neighbors.
So this year, for Giving Tuesday, we ask for your support in bringing this fledgling module to life. Will you consider supporting The RE Store on Giving Tuesday, December 1st, and helping us reach our $2,500 goal? Every dollar donated will be matched by a generous donor, which means your support goes twice as far (whether you donate anytime this week or on Giving Tuesday).
