Bookstores have been a staple of human culture since the introduction of the written word. They have shared ideas, inspired creative thought, educated generations and supported flourishing communities. Our own local bookstore, Village Books, is no different. Located in the heart of Historic Fairhaven and downtown Lynden, Village Books is a community-based independent bookstore with a passion for building community. As part of their community building mission, Village Books runs Round It Up, a giving program created to support local non-profits. Each season they select a new nonprofit partner that benefits when customers choose to increase their purchase to the nearest dollar. The partner then receives the difference.
This season, Village Books has selected us as their Round it Up recipient! This means that with each Village Books or Paper Dreams purchase, you can donate your change to The RE Store. All the funds from Round it Up will go towards our Community Jobs Training program. Community Jobs Training builds a more confident, educated, and healthy community by offering one-on-one job training opportunities.
To participate, visit Village Books or Paper Dreams in Historic Fairhaven or downtown Lynden and make a purchase from September through November. Tell your Village Books or Paper Dreams sales associate that you’d like to Round Up your purchase and they’ll do the rest!
