Salvaged materials used: Barn door hardware (prepared to support 400 lbs), optimism for sufficient headers to receive 6″ lag screws, and old Mariner High’s bleachers (salvaged by the RE Store) with fir plywood were the necessary ingredients.
Project Description: I had two problems to solve: a general lack of storage and very little privacy and noise separation between the bedroom and living room. Thinking of storage as mass, I thought to put it to work in creating a noise barrier.
I still need to install 1/16″ cable in front of shelves to secure clothes/shoes/books and provide support for coat hangers (upper right bay).
