If you are finishing a remodel project or cleaning out the garage, don’t pay money to dump useable building materials or let them rot in the backyard! Donate your unwanted items and everyone wins. We accept items from homeowners, contractors, and businesses.
We accept a very wide variety of building supplies, business furniture, home decor, yard and garden items, architectural salvage, and occasionally some strange things that could only be identified by your great-uncle who worked on every kind of engine known to man.
Please keep in mind that keeping things intact as possible (hardware and connectors on cabinets, for example) makes things infinitely easier to resell and give a new life.
The list is long and includes: doors, windows, cabinets, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, hardware, framing and finish lumber, moulding, flooring, stone, and much more. It is actually easier to tell you what we will politely refuse. See our lists for Seattle and Bellingham
We are not interested in items that are broken or heavily damaged.
Drop-offs are accepted at each store from 9-5 Monday-Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays. Drop-offs are not accepted during the last hour of each day, due to staffing.
Depending on the materials that you bring in or have picked up, you can be eligible for:
- In-Store Trade Credit – for 25 percent of what we sell the item for. Example: We give you 10 dollars trade credit for a door that we sell for 40 dollars. If we pick it up, the trade value is less.
- Tax receipt – you determine the value of your donation to our non-profit organization. Please consult an accountant regarding tax deductions.

*Please note that if our Pick-Up Service comes to your location, the trade credit value will be assessed at 15-20 percent of The RE Store sales value. Tax receipt donations are still determined by you if we come and pick up your items.
While we want to keep as much as we can out of the landfill, we are selective and must view items before accepting them. You just can’t go leaving Aunt Zelda’s flower patterned couch on our front door step in the middle of the night. We welcome items from homeowners, contractors, and businesses during business hours. If it is worth our while, we will even come pick it up for free!
